The Sarnia Brigade senior team lost to the Canadian champion Windsor Stars 9-4 in Sunday’s final to finish with a 4-1 record at the Vaughan Vikings AAA baseball tournament.
Kyle Moloney and Mack Maxwell homered in a 7-6 semifinal win over the Brampton Royals earlier Sunday. Reliever Alex McLean threw three scoreless innings.
On Saturday, Derek Masse pitched a complete game in a 15-4 win over the Newmarket Hawks.
Quinton Johnston tossed a complete-game shutout and Brad Hill scored three runs in an 11-0 win over the host Vikings.

Wolfpack capture consolation crown
The No. 11-seeded Great Lakes Wolfpack beat No. 4 Port Perry 15-12 in the consolation final at the OFSAA boys rugby A/AA championship Saturday in Belleville.

Imperials lose NFC season opener
The Sarnia Imperials lost their Northern Football Conference season opener 27-14 to the GTA All Stars on Saturday in Brampton.
The Imperials will play their home opener this Saturday against the Sault Steelers (2-0) at 7 p.m. at Norm Perry Park.
Legionnaires add forward Twigg
Forward Braden Twigg of Chatham is the eighth new forward to join the Sarnia Legionnaires in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League off-season.
Six-foot-two, 195-pound Twigg, who’ll turn 18 in November, had 7-7-14 totals in 53 games last season with the Elliot Lake Red Wings in the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League.

The Legionnaires have lost forward Owen Hey to the NOJHL’s Hearst Lumberjacks. He had seven points in 47 games last season as a 17-year-old rookie with the Legionnaires and Komoka Kings.
Nienhuis to play for USHL’s Omaha
Ex-Legionnaires forward Ryder Nienhuis of Sarnia has made the Omaha Lancers in the United States Hockey League.
Nienhuis, who’ll turn 20 in September, had 35 points in 49 games last season with the Mercer Chiefs in the U.S. Premier Hockey League’s National Collegiate Development Conference.
Sting alumni win ECHL’s Kelly Cup
Sarnia Sting alumni Sean Josling and Kyle Neuber won the ECHL’s Kelly Cup championship with the Florida Everblades.
Josling tied for the ECHL playoff scoring title with 20 points in 22 games after posting 28 points in 47 regular-season games. Neuber saw action in two playoff games.

The Everblades, who are affiliated with the Florida Panthers, swept the Idaho Steelheads in the championship series.
Pacers winless with two games left
The Point Edward Pacers ended a three-loss weekend Sunday with a 16-8 road loss to the Welland Generals in the Ontario Jr. B Lacrosse League.
Konnor Adams scored twice Saturday in an 11-4 loss to the Owen Sound North Stars at Point Edward. Brett Vince and Cyrus Sinopole also scored and Austin Dalgety made 60 saves.
On Friday, Adams scored four goals and Vince had three in a 14-13 loss to the previously winless Generals at Point Edward. Victor Tang and Mason Brown had two apiece. Sinopole and Jaxon Lucas added singles.
The Pacers (0-18) will host the Wallaceburg Red Devils at 8 p.m. Wednesday and the London Blue Devils in Sunday’s season finale at 6 p.m.

Superbike winners at Grand Bend
Alex Dumas won the crash-filled Pro Superbike race in the Canadian Superbike Championship series Sunday at the Grand Bend Motorplex.
Chris Pletsch was second and Alvinston’s Trevor Dion was third.
David MacKay won the Pro Sport Bike class and Jeff Williams won the Pro Twins class.
On Saturday, Ben Young won the Pro Superbike class. MacKay and Williams also won their respective classes.
Aces at Huron Oaks
Bill Lovsin hit a hole-in-one Saturday at Huron Oaks on the 134-yard second hole with his seven-iron.
The witnesses were Margaret Ryan and Tim Gordon.
Dante D’Andrea aced the 124-yard 15th hole at Huron Oaks with a nine-iron June 7. The witnesses were Matthew Henderson and Ben Colucci.
