Prominent horse owner and seven-time Melbourne Cup winner, Lloyd Williams, has announced that three of his horses – Sir Lamorak, Hosier, and Hype – will be auctioned online as part of the next Inglis Digital sale. All three horses are trained under the expert guidance of Kris Lees and are being sold on account of Hudson Conway.
Sir Lamorak, a commendable competitor, currently leads the auction bids at $75,000. This horse has demonstrated a strong track record, with two victories under his belt in Ireland under the training of Aidan O’Brien. Just recently, he was narrowly defeated at a BenchMark 78 over 2400m at Rosehill, further proving his capabilities on the track.
Hosier, another of Williams’s horses in the auction, initially caught the public’s eye during his early career in Australia, where he emerged triumphant in five out of his first six starts. After moving to Lees’ stable, he continued his impressive run by securing a win in the Coffs Harbour Cup last year and another at Randwick during the spring. Recently, the six-year-old placed midfield in the Muswellbrook Gold Cup, underscoring his consistent performance.
The final horse to be auctioned, Hype, has spent his last two starts in Queensland and was last seen clinching victory at a BenchMark 70 at Doomben over 1350m. His recent performance showcases his strong potential for future races.
It’s worth noting that horses formerly owned by the Williams family have seen considerable success after changing hands. One striking example is Subscribe, who was sold by Williams to a buyer in Hong Kong. There, he evolved into the champion galloper known as Vengeance of Rain, earning victories in prestigious races like the Hong Kong Derby, QEII Cup, Hong Kong Cup, and Dubai Sheema Classic.
The auction represents an exciting opportunity for potential buyers, with the bidding for these three high-calibre horses from the Williams stable set to close on Wednesday.
