After a three-year hiatus Lendlease are excited to announce their Lendlease Springboard Program is back and they have wasted no time in hitting the ground running.
Springboard is an innovative program that brings Lendlease employees from around the world to Yeppoon – the gateway of the Great Barrier Reef, on the Capricorn Coast.
Lendlease Group Head of Social Impact Edmund McCombs said over five immersive days, the enthusiastic group gained insight into their strengths and then used those skills to create meaningful solutions in their life, community and to solve the big-picture challenges facing our natural resources and planet.
“It’s all about making a difference and part of the Lendlease commitment to create a lasting impact for tomorrow,” he said.
“Working with Impact International and our community partners Fitzroy Basin Association,
Livingstone Shire Council, Upcycle CQ and Cap Coast Landcare, Springboard invests in the
wellbeing of people while contributing to the local community as part of our goal of contributing $250 million of social value by 2025.
“Our ‘Living with purpose, inspiring through hope’ tagline has never been more relevant.
“I’m excited by the possibility of offering our employees the opportunity to make a difference here on the Capricorn Coast.”
Landcare President Malcolm Wells said the past week with the Lendlease team has been very busy and very productive.
“In addition to lending a hand with weeding and tidying up some areas, Lendlease offered some fabulous advice and ideas on what Landcare can do to raise funding to keep Landcare going strong,” Mr Wells said.
“While our volunteers give of their time freely, we also have overheads such as our Coordinators wage, keeping our vehicle on the road and incidental costs.
“Lendlease also donated $1000 towards new signage which is extremely helpful.
“Most of the Lendlease employees work in offices so it was wonderful to see they were not frightened to get their hands dirty. They did a fabulous job at Waru with the Landcare volunteers weeding and tidying up the area.
“We look forward to them coming back again in a few months with the next team of helpers.”
