Zak Hardaker has decided to appeal his one-match suspension. The Leigh Leopards forward was sin-binned for a dangerous throw in the club’s Challenge Cup victory over York Knights.
The tackle saw the England international receive a Grade C dangerous throw charge but Leigh have decided to appeal it ahead of their trip to Catalans Dragons on Friday. If successful he would be cleared to play but the Leopards do risk a frivolous appeal. It’s a busy night for Leigh, who also have Kai O’Donnell up for a Grade F charge that, if found correct, would see him receive a minimum six-match ban. His hearing will start at 6 PM while Hardaker’s is due to start at 6:45.
The last person up before the tribunal is Josh Griffin, the Hull FC forward who was also sent off at the weekend. He has been charged with questioning the integrity of a match official, also at Grade F. Griffin’s hearing is due to start at 7:30 but there is always a possibility of hearings being delayed dependent on the cases before them.
Leigh are already without Tom Nisbet and Ava Seumanufagai for the trip to France after they were also charged following offences in the win at the weekend. The Leopards have decided against appealing against those.
