A man told a teenage girl “if it bleeds it breeds” before dropping his trousers and pants and exposing himself to a group of children. Glynn Hatch, 54, also offered the group of teenagers entry to a sex party and made lewd comments during the bizarre incident in Launceston on September 24 last year.
Hatch, of Launceston, appeared at Truro Crown Court for sentence having pleaded guilty to sexual communication with children.
Prosecuting the case, Emily Pitts described how the group of teenagers aged 13 and 14 were out when Hatch approached them. He told them he owned a club and they should come to a party he was holding. He told them it was £5 for entry and then went on to list prices for sexual services.

Ms Pitts said: “He started talking about cannabis and said ‘if I give you some and you rat me out I’ll break every bone in your body’. He then looked at one of the girls, made a comment about her backside and said ‘if it bleeds it breeds’.”
Hatch then dropped his shorts and underwear. The prosecution accepted that Hatch only intended to flash his backside and the exposure of his genitals was accidental.

The incident was seen by a woman nearby who remonstrated with Hatch and police were called and Hatch, who has no previous convictions, was arrested.
Representing Hatch, Ramsay Quaife said: “He has lost his character and suffers the stigma of the shame and embarrassment of this offence. What happened that day was out of character.”
Sentencing Hatch, Recorder T Kenefick said: “On the evening of September 24 last year at around 6pm you were in Launceston town centre outside of Co-op. A group of teenagers were also there all aged 13 or 14. You went over to them and said you owned a nightclub and were having a party. You said it was £5 to get in, £10 for head and £15 for sex.
“You also made lewd remarks about the backside of one of the girls who was only 13. You were challenged and said ‘oh well, if it bleeds it breeds’. You pulled down your trousers and boxers and mooned at them.
“I sentenced on the basis this was completely out of character and a moment of madness. You have no previous convictions and it seems this was a one off. You recognise what you did was wrong.”
Hatch was sentenced to a two-year community order consisting of a rehabilitation activity requirement and 50 hours of unpaid work. He was also made subject of a sexual harm prevention order and the sex offenders’ notification requirements.
