MECHANICSBURG, Pa. — The PA Sprint Car SpeedWeek is shaping up to be the highest paying in the 33-year history of the series.
Sponsorship continues to grow for the series presented by Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews. The ten-race series now posts a minimum winner’s payoff of $8,000.
There are four $8,000-to-win events, four will pay $10,000-to-win, Port Royal Speedway offers $15,000 for the July 3 Keith Kauffman Classic and the Mitch Smith Memorial at Williams Grove, the crown jewel of SpeedWeek, will pay $20,000-to-win on June 30.
In addition to the outstanding race day payoffs, the C&D Rigging sponsorship has boosted the point series payoff to a record $30,000 to be paid to 15 drivers.
First through fifth in the final point standings will collect $6,000, $3,000, $2,700, $2,500, and $2,200 respectively.
The big increase is the bonus for the next ten drivers in the point standings who compete in every SpeedWeek event. Those bonus payoffs will range from $1,800 to $1,000. All events must be completed for the total of $30,000 to be paid.
Sponsor Payouts
The Long Hollow Cattle Company will sponsor the B-Main for the second consecutive year. Owner Matt Balliet will post a minimum payoff of $300-$200-$150-$100-$100 to the first non-qualifiers.
Selinsgrove Ford will sponsor the $5,000 “Ten for Ten” bonus. Todd Benner, Selinsgrove Ford president, will present a $5,000 bonus to a driver with a top 10 feature finish in every SpeedWeek event.
A minimum of 7 events must be completed for the bonus. If multiple drivers have all top ten finishes, the highest point finisher receives the $5,000 bonus.
If no driver records all top ten finishes, the driver with most top ten finishes receives $1,000. In the event of a tie for most top ten finishes, the highest driver in final points will receive the $1,000 bonus. Drivers must compete in all events to qualify for the bonus.
The 2022 SpeedWeek champion Brent Marks captured the award last year and was the only driver in recent memory to accomplish the feat.
Lelands.com will offer bonus money for heat race action with the Knockout Bonus. There will be a $500 bonus each night if the heat race starter with the fastest time (usually the fourth-place starter) can win the heat race thereby knocking out all other drivers in that heat race from the feature redraw. If more than one driver accomplishes the knockout, the $500 will be divided equally.
