King Charles III was all smiles during a recent visit to Enniskillen Castle, Co Fermanagh during a two-day trip to Northern Ireland. The monarch was joined by his wife, Queen Camilla, who was dressed in an emerald green frock with a beige coat over top. For his part, Kin Charles wore a gray suit with a black and red striped tie.
The same day, the royal couple were spotted in Market Theatre Square, Armagh where they enjoyed samples of local beverages while meeting artisanal food producers. King Charles also gave a speech to the public during the outing.
King Charles Hasn’t Addressed Meghan & Harry’s Car Chase
Since King Charles was crowned on May 6, 2023, following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth, earlier in the year, he’s been making various public appearances as part of his new royal duties.
King Charles was polite and friendly during his recent trip to Ireland, masking the strife his family has been having in their personal life. In fact, the monarch hasn’t publicly addressed the near-fatal car chase his son Prince Harry was involved with alongside his wife, Meghan Markle.
Harry & Meghan Almost Met A Similar Fate To Princess Diana
Earlier this month, Prince Harry, Meghan, and her mother Doria Ragland were involved in a car chase after leaving the Women of Vision Awards in New York at the Ziegfeld Ballroom.
In an effort to discover what hotel the famous couple were staying at, photographers reportedly pursued them relentlessly after leaving the venue, which made navigating the busy New York rodes challenging. The chase lasted for 90 minutes before Harry and Meghan’s security delivered them to the 19th police precinct on East 67th street.
Harry, Meghan, and her mother were eventually able to escape the public eye with the help of the police, and presumably made it back to their hotel.
Though Harry and Meghan’s car didn’t crash, the chaos caused other cars to collide, implicating other drivers and pedestrians. “Last night, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Ms. Ragland were involved in a near catastrophic car chase at the hands of a ring of highly aggressive paparazzi,” a spokesperson for the couple stated.
“This relentless pursuit, lasting over two hours, resulted in multiple near collisions involving other drivers on the road, pedestrians and two NYPD officers,” they added.
Harry and Meghan’s car chase shares eerie parallels to the fatal crash that took the life of his mother, Princess Diana, in 1997. While visiting Paris, France, she became involved in a car chase while trying to evade paparazzi. Her car ultimately crashed in the Pont de l’Alma tunnel, claiming the lives of everyone in the vehicle.
Prince Harry has been vocal about his concerns about media attention and how it impacts his family. It’s reportedly one of the main reasons Harry and Meghan chose to step down from their royal duties and pursue a life outside of the U.K. with their two children.
While the couple may have made the right decision for them, it’s apparently caused tension in the royal family – Meghan didn’t even travel to England to attend King Charles’ coronation. And given the king’s reluctance to speak on his son’s near-fatal car crash, especially with the contest of what happened to Princess Diana, it does seem to suggest that their relationship remains strained.
