Kim Kardashian has opened up during an episode of On Purpose with Jay Shetty about the struggles of being a single parent… and it’s gone down like a sack of privileged bricks.
As shared to People, Kim – who has four children with ex husband Kanye West, North (9) Saint (7), Chicago (5), and Psalm (4) – said parenting was “like full madness.”
“Everyone says the days are long and the years are short, and that couldn’t be like a more true statement,” Kim told podcast host Jay Shetty.
“It’s like I always have to do one of my daughter’s hair — and it has to be perfect and it has to be a certain way — and then this one needs me to put his shoes on and they all need you. It’s like full crazy madness, cooking, running around. Like, it’s wild.”
“You know, with all the moods and the personalities and sometimes they’re fighting, and you know, there’s no one there,” Kim adds. “Like, it’s [just] me to play good police officer and bad cop.”
“Parenting is really f**king hard… That’s the only way I can describe it. It is the most rewarding job in the entire world… It has been the most challenging thing. There are nights I cry myself to sleep. Like, holy shit, this f**king tornado in my house. Like, what just happened?”
It’s this last bit that has hit hard with Twitter users pointing out that Kim, as a “single parent” has the benefit of family, incredible wealth thanks to her billionaire status (bringing education, food, healthcare, recreation, shelter and stability) that many single mothers do not have.
Must be tough crying yourself to sleep in a mansion with many people able to look after your kids & take care of your daily activities

Right?! Like what are you even saying? You’re literally a multi millionaire and your family are also multi millionaires. Stuff like this makes me believe they are out of touch with reality…

Now imagine being broke with 2-3 jobs and being a single parent without any help from family.

Did she have sleepless nights when her kids were sick? No. The nannies did. Did she stay up at night wondering how she’s going to get their medicine, or get one kid to one place and another kid to another place on the other side of town, at the same time? No! GIRL, BYE!

I cry myself to sleep sometimes too. But not because I’m raising my kids solo, mostly because I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to figure out how to keep the power on tomorrow…
