The Justin Wynn Fund, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, was founded in 1987 to honor the memory and legacy of Justin Wynn, service-minded young leader who died in a swimming accident at the age of 9.
Each spring, the Justin Wynn Fund honors select fourth-grade students from each of the District 65 schools. The Justin Wynn Award recipients are chosen by their teachers and administrators for demonstrating outstanding leadership, citizenship and sportsmanship.

The Justin Wynn Fund’s 36th annual awards ceremony was May 7. Attendees at the ceremony included teachers, principals and assistant principals from District 65, along with District 65 Assistant Superintendent of Schools Angel Turner, ETHS Superintendent Marcus Campbell and Mayor Daniel Biss.
