Joey’s All Star German Football Tour
Update one:
Our six local footballers have made it across to Germany for their amazing football (soccer) tour.
After a German language lesson once all 59 players had settled in, the team got their first look at German football.
The team played at Sielow after watching the club’s Men’s team battle out a two-all draw against the League leader.
First, Joey’s U16s played the Joey’s U18s, and in a hard-fought match, the U18s just got on top, winning 3-2 with the female players playing in that match as well.
The next batch was a mixed affair where the U20s Joey’s played the Sielow team and won 11-2. Sielow had no answers against the speed and skills displayed by our boys.
The players of the younger age groups and the female players also participated in that exhibition match. This gave the coaches a really good look at the teams in preparation for the first big hit out against the teams from Frankfurt Oder Sports School.
It will be a very different challenge for Joey’s teams since our opponents play at the second and third highest level of German youth football.
