Joao, Byram, Pukki – Every player released in the Championship so far as Stoke City plan summer rebuild

Relegated Reading have become the latest club to confirm their retained list as they prepare for life in League One.

Former Stoke City loan centre-back Liam Moore and striker Lucas Joao are among the six players who are being released while the club is in talks with Yakou Meite, Junior Hoilett and Amabdou Mbengue. They have also triggered an extension for left-back Nesta Guinness-Walker.

Scott Dann, Shane Long, Dejan Tetek and Luke Southwood are joining what will be a large catalogue of free agents from the Championship.

Stoke have already confirmed their retained list, with goodbyes to players including Nick Powell, Morgan Fox, Sam Clucas and Phil Jagielka.

Norwich are not hanging around either after a disappointing campaign and have released seven players including Teemu Pukki, Sam Byram and Kieran Dowell.

Plymouth, who were promoted as champions from League One, have released eight players including forward Luke Jephcott, who was once loosely linked with interest from Stoke.
