The 68th Yeppoon Show held on Saturday and Sunday 10-11 June, lived up to its reputation as one of the best country shows with around 7000 people coming through the gates over a huge weekend of action-packed entertainment and activities.
Show President Ken Landsberg said Saturday was a huge day with families coming out to enjoy a large variety of rides, sideshow alley, food and variety sites, lots of free entertainment and all the action in the ring.
“Everyone enjoyed the non-stop entertainment with many staying on for the stage show and Mr Fireworks International show as it lit up the sky,” Mr Landsberg said.
“We had the dog jumping for the first time on Sunday which proved to be very popular for all ages.
“The winner jumped two metres which is just astounding.
“We had a high number of entries in all the pavilions and the schools produced some amazing work with a water wise theme.
“This year Terry Quip in the trade section took out Brian Dorey’s award for best exhibit and Anne Oram in the edible and other fruits took out the Presidents award for best exhibit.”
Mr Landsberg said the show was made possible by amazing support from the Yeppoon Show sponsors and volunteers.
“Our volunteers worked tirelessly to make our show the success it was, and of course the ongoing support of our amazing sponsors whose support is invaluable to staging such a magnificent event for our region,” he said.
“We are all very happy to have been able to present such a great weekend, now we just need to finish up the post event paperwork and clean-up for another year.”
