PONANT is celebrating 35 years of exploration success since 1988 with the announcement of its 14th vessel.
From its foundation, PONANT has always innovated with a constant commitment to sustainability and environmental protection while ensuring a unique travel experience underpinned by discovery, with nature as a guide. This year, the luxury cruise company is celebrating 35 years of exploration guided by nature.
PONANT’s next vessel is also in the pipeline and to be its 14th, a bespoke new carbon-neutral sailing ship made for the luxury expedition cruise passenger. At around 180-metres long, the boat will accommodate between 100-200 guests and be centred on slow travel with flexible itineraries. Matched with their unparalleled quality of service, which has cemented the company’s reputation over the last 35 years, PONANT is now more than ever loved by passengers.
Eco-friendly luxury
PONANT’s next new ship is the ground-breaking hybrid electric/LNG icebreaker Le Commandant Charcot, one of the only commercial expedition ships capable of accessing some of the most remote corners of the earth. The new ship vessel is part of the cruise company’s commitment to deliver better and more environmentally friendly cruising and part of six new commitments to sustainability, including reducing CO2 emissions by 15% in 2026 and 30% in 2030 and ensuring full recyclability by 2025.
