56 per cent of reported problems were on the app, with 29 per cent on the website. DownDetector reported over 100 reports of outages at 6.30am.

The networking platform is one of the world’s most popular apps, with more than 2.35 billion monthly active users. The app is owned by Meta, the parent company of Facebook.
The app showed users error messages such as “sorry, couldn’t refresh feed” and “something went wrong”. Instagram went down on Friday with users worldwide complaining of issues.
Many users took to Twitter to complain about the impact of the outage. “Instagram down every 5 business days wtf” a fuming Twitter user typed on the final morning of the working week. “Instagram down again … Here they come to twitter?” a second asked on the site.
“Instagram down every 3 days I’m so tired” another agreed on Twitter today. And another shared: “Me pulling up to Twitter again to see if Instagram is down or if it’s just the wifi not working.” Meta is yet to comment on reports of the outages.
DownDetector says on its website: “It is common for some problems to be reported throughout the day. Downdetector only reports an incident when the number of problem reports is significantly higher than the typical volume for that time of day.”
