Key forward Josh Corbett is a test to return to football this weekend, according to High Performance Manager Phil Merriman.
Corbett did not play at either AFL or WAFL level over the weekend after entering the concussion protocols following a head knock playing for Peel the week prior.
Meanwhile, Travis Colyer made a successful return via Peel at the weekend, featuring in the Thunder’s 89-point win over West Coast.
Colyer tallied 12 disposals, five marks, two tackles and kicked a goal on managed minutes in Mandurah on Saturday.
Merriman provided an update on Colyer in the Perth Radiological Clinic injury update ahead of Walyalup’s round 10 clash with Geelong.
“Trav has pulled up well, he had a successful return and hit his minutes,” Merriman said.
“He has got his usual sore spots after playing his first game of football in a number of weeks.”
Merriman also indicated that Heath Chapman (hamstring) and Matt Taberner (back) were progressing well in their rehabilitations.
“Both Heath and Matt have a significant strength focus in the gym at the moment and they have returned to running on-field,” Merriman said.
