EMERGING Geelong business leaders will hear from businesspeople who have balanced their professional careers with local philantrophic pursuits at the next Geelong Young Professionals (GYP) networking event.
The coming local panel on community leadership will feature discussions from three Geelong success stories and doubles as a chance for rising stars to get involved in their local community at the meet-and-greet event.
GYP says its From Grassroots to the Board Room event is led by an engaging and inspiring local panel and is designed to provide an introduction for Geelong’s emerging leaders on how to utilise their professional skills and contribute to the broader region.
The panel includes:
- Cynthia Scherer, general manager of Anthony Costa Foundation, and formerly the community impact and grants manager at the Give Where You Live Foundation
- Michael Parker, corporate and community partnerships manager with Lifeline Geelong and South West Victoria and board member at Lazarus Community Centre Geelong, and
- Bridgette Kelly, principal lawyer at Harwood Andrews and former GYP committee member.
The event will be held at GMHBA Stadium on June 7 from 7-9am.
Bellington Estate and Lifeline Geelong & South West Victoria are the event’s sponsors.
Tickets are $30 and include breakfast plus a complimentary barista-made coffee, and are available at gyp.net.au
