A popular water park is set to open a £250,000 role-play village in time for summer. Waterworld hopes to provide ‘awaken the imaginations’ of younger visitors with the new venture.
The attraction will set up a farm shop, post office and fishing area in the new play area, which will be Staffordshire-themed. In a nod to the region, it’ll also have a pottery experience and give youngsters the chance to perform on stage at a mini New Vic Theatre.
The village will be designed and built by DKMD Role-Play .A launch date is expected to be announced within the next few weeks, StokeonTrentLive reports.
Ten jobs will be created by the latest investment, which comes after Waterworld opened two 18-hole indoor mini golf courses, a spa and fitness centre and four new super rides rides in the aqua park. A total of £12 million has been pumped into the site during the last few years.

A Waterworld spokesman said: “We are investing around a quarter of a million pounds in this new venture, which will create an immersive and unique role-play environment which is Staffordshire themed. Parents and carers will also be able to relax and unwind in our on-site café whilst the children play safely in our secure and supervised environment.”
A DKMD Role-Play spokesman added: “Children will be able to go fishing on our very own Staffordshire Barge, take to the stage at our recreation of the famous New Vic Theatre, create a teapot in our very own kiln, and much more. This immersive role play village will awaken the imaginations of all those who have a desire to explore and play. The village has been designed for the early years and primary school audience – to not only bring joy to children, but allow adults to play alongside them too.”
