Sussex is set to see scorching temperatures across the county this weekend, with an amber heat-health alert issued as temperatures spike. With the county set to see plenty of blue skies and sunshine, it appears that the summer season has really begun, with people being advised to stock up on suncream, sun hats and be extra cautious.
As the risk to elderly and vulnerable people is extremely high this weekend, The Met Office has forecast just how hot Sussex will become, and it will be sizzling. Set to reach 29 degrees across inland areas such as Horsham on Saturday (June 10), the sun will be shining extremely bright in the sky as hundreds of people are likely to flock outdoors, whether that be to the South Downs or the coast.
Likely to be cooler on Sunday (June 11), Sussex residents should still expect roasting conditions and should prepare to feel extremely warm, especially when in indoor spaces or in direct sunlight. People should also avoid being in the sunlight during peak times of the day, specifically from 11am until 3pm.
