A 39-year-old traffic controller is fighting for life in hospital after she was allegedly struck by a vehicle on Wednesday.

It happened about 2.45pm Wednesday at the intersection of Gold Coast Hwy and Twenty First Ave, Palm Beach.
The 39-year-old traffic controller was working at the scene when police said she was struck by a passing Mazda.
She was rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital with critical injuries.
Images of the Mazda taken after the crash show the extent of the collision.
The bonnet of the vehicle has a large dent in the centre and the windshield is shattered.
The 46-year-old driver of the Mazda is being questioned by police, with no charges laid at the time of writing.
The Queensland Police Forensic Crash Unit is also investigating.
