A 39-year-old traffic controller is fighting for life in hospital after she was allegedly struck by a vehicle on Wednesday.

It happened about 2.45pm Wednesday at the intersection of Gold Coast Hwy and Twenty First Ave, Palm Beach.
Images show the smashed windscreen of the car allegedly involved in which a 39-year-old traffic controller was struck while working on the Gold Coast on Wednesday afternoon.
The 39-year-old traffic controller was working at the scene when police said she was struck by a passing Mazda.
She was rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital with critical injuries.

The bonnet of the vehicle has a large dent in the centre and the windshield is shattered.
The traffic controller suffered serious injuries and was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition following the crash.
The 46-year-old driver of the Mazda is being questioned by police, with no charges laid at the time of writing.
The Queensland Police Forensic Crash Unit is also investigating.
