The 26-year-old all-rounder from Subiaco, Western Australia, started her career as a pure batter at the tender age of 15 she started playing competitive cricket. While playing in the domestic circuit, she turned into a handy all-rounder in her stint with Western Australia and the WBBL franchise Perth Scorchers. Later, she moved to Tasmania and joined Hobart Hurricanes in the year 2022.
She made her ODI debut for Australia on 7th October 2019 against Sri Lanka. Achini Kulasuriya was her maiden ODI victim. She made her T20I debut on 11th December 2022 against Australia. She had a memorable outing on her debut picking up three big wickets of Jemimah Rodrigues, Harmanpreet Kaur, and, Deepti Sharma, despite her efforts she ended up on the losing side.
Heather’s moment arrived when in the very same series when she became only the second Australian women’s player to pick up a hat trick in the T20I format. Meghan Schutt was the first player to achieve the feat for Australia in T20Is. She returned with the figures of 4/8 in 2 overs.
She was recently a part of the Australia A side for a practice match against the England side ahead of the Ashes. Before that, she was a part of the Tasmania side led by Elyse Villani. She had a decent season scoring 157 runs at an average of 31.40 in the 5 innings. She had a better season with the ball at a strike rate of 24.60. She has played over 100 matches in the WBBL where she picked up 112 wickets at an average of 21.88.
In the year 2022, she played for Hobart Hurricanes where she had a decent season, scoring 258 runs in the 12 innings at an average of 28.66. With the ball, she has picked up 10 wickets at a strike rate of 21.60. Her best figures of 3/15 came against Sydney Thunder. She has made a long-term commitment to Hobart Hurricanes by extending her contract till 2026.
