Shooting (Non-contact) – Glen Burnie

On June 9, 2023, at approximately 4:30 a.m., officers responded for a report of gunshots being fired in the 200 block of Woodhill Drive in Glen Burnie. During their investigation officers learned that the victim witnessed the suspect looking into his 2018 Kia sedan and confronted him. The suspect walked away from the victim’s vehicle and the victim went back into his residence. When the victim returned to his vehicle he found the same suspect inside his vehicle. As the victim approached his vehicle the suspect fled and the victim pursued him. As the victim was chasing the suspect they neared the corner of a nearby building and two additional suspects appeared. One of those suspects was brandishing a black semi-automatic handgun and fired what was believed to be two rounds. The victim was unsure if the suspect fired the rounds at him or into the air or the ground. After firing the rounds, all three suspects continued to flee on foot. Upon further inspection, the victim discovered that the rear window of his vehicle was shattered and the steering column was dismantled. There were no reports of physical or property damage as a result of the shooting. First-Degree Assault – Pasadena

On June 8, 2023, at approximately 3:00 p.m., officers responded for a report of a pedestrian struck in the 100 block of Dunlap Road in Pasadena. During their investigation, officers learned that the adult male victim was riding a bicycle on Dunlap Road when they were approached by a dark blue Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. The driver of the pick-up intentionally struck the victim, knocking him off of the bike. The suspect got out of the truck and began to physically assault the victim until officers arrived on the scene. The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was arrested and charged accordingly.

Destruction to Auto/Attmept Auto Theft – Glen Burnie

On June 9, 2023, at approximately 2:00 a.m., officers responded for a report of destruction to auto that just occurred in the 8100 block of Harold Court in Glen Burnie. During their investigation, officers learned that male juvenile suspects broke the windows of two Hyundai sedans and attempted to steal them. As officers were arriving on scene, both suspects fled on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, both suspects were taken into custody without further incident. Both suspects were arrested and charged accordingly.

Attempt Escape – Annapolis

On June 8, 2023, at approximately 10:15 a.m., officers responded for a report of an assault of an employee at the Jennifer Road Detention Center, 131 Jennifer Road in Annapolis. During their investigation, officers learned that the suspect, an inmate, was able to gain entry into an unoccupied office within the kitchen area of the facility. Inside that office, the suspect was able to manipulate a locked cabinet and obtain a kitchen knife. After obtaining the knife, the suspect encountered two female contractual kitchen employees and grabbed one of them. As the second employee fled to get assistance the suspect held onto the victim and attempted to move toward the kitchen exit. As the suspect neared the exit, a detention officer came through the door and confronted the suspect. Within less than one minute of the victim being grabbed by the suspect, the detention officer was able to engage the suspect, disarm him, and take him into custody. There were no reported physical injuries as a result of the incident. The suspect was charged accordingly.
