About the opportunity
An outstanding opportunity exists for a self-motivated leader with strong skills and experience in planning, project management, data analysis and reporting, as well as previous success leading service improvement to join the University and support student success, drive service excellence and overall, enhance the student journey.
As a member of the Vice President (Students) and Registrar Leadership Group, the Head of Student Service Improvement and Reporting informs and delivers on University strategy and portfolio goals by identifying and leading transformational and improvement initiative through data driven decision making.
The role works collaboratively across the University as a trusted partner and effective change agent, ensuring a holistic, “one University” approach. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Lead operational planning and related monitoring and reporting activities of the portfolio, including the effective use of benchmarking, engagement activities and compliance/audit reviews to identify and lead policy, process, system improvement initiatives across the portfolio.
- Ensue the availability and effective use of data across the Administrative and Support teams of the portfolio and apply relevant insights to identify and remediate issues.
- Conceptualise and lead the delivery of improvement initiatives, with a particular focus on service excellence and student success initiatives, while proactively engaging and exercising influence to achieve desired outcomes.
- Manage the Student Service Improvement and Reporting Team ensuring effective prioritisation, resource allocation and project management approaches and appropriate team capabilities are in place.
About you
To succeed in this role, you will be a collaborative leader with exceptional communication and influencing skills to lead key initiates focused on service excellence and student success. You will have proven success contributing to the development and implementation of operation plans for the delivery of services and analysing data to generate insights and drive evidence-based decision. Your ability to build strategic relationships with stakeholders across the portfolio and provide data, trends and analysis to address areas of improvement will be key to your success. More specifically, you will have:
- Relevant qualifications and extensive experience in planning, delivering and monitoring client facing support and/or administrative services, aimed at enhancing student/client experience, student/client retentions, engagement and success, preferably in a higher education setting.
- High level analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated experience in applying available technology to data mining and visualisation, and transforming data into insights and reporting to inform critical business decisions.
- Demonstrated success in identifying and leading improvement initiatives and change to deliver improved customer experience, more effective and efficient processes and to reduce costs, including effective change and project management approaches and monitoring return on investment and benefits realisation.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a proven track record of leading staff through change, driving excellence and innovation to deliver effective services within a complex and dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills, with a demonstrated consultative approach, including proven ability to present on issues in a range of ways to a range of audiences, including public and organisation-wide meetings, to senior, government, and sector representatives.

The salary package is negotiable depending on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
