Melissa McCarthy and Halle Bailey enjoyed a whirlwind trip to Australia this week for the premiere of their new film, The Little Mermaid.
And on Wednesday, the pair were seen at Sydney Airport preparing to catch a flight back to America after fulfilling their promotional duties for the Disney film.
Halle, 23, showed off her flawless complexion going makeup free while Melissa, 52, also kept things low key as they prepared for the long-haul flight.
Halle bundled up in a cream teddy bear coat while Melissa wore a black outfit with what appeared to be a beige Alexander McQueen scarf.
The Gilmore Girls star happily carted a carry on suitcase in one hand and held a Starbucks coffee in the other.
They both appeared relaxed and in high spirits as they made their way through the terminal.
On Monday, the pair thrilled fans as they attended the star-studded Australian premiere of The Little Mermaid at Sydney’s State Theatre.
Earlier that day, they were mobbed by fans outside of the Channel Seven Studios in Sydney’s Martin Place after making an appearance on Sunrise.
Halle, 23, and Melissa, 52, appeared in high spirits as they greeted their eager fans, happily signing autographs and taking selfies with the crowd who had gathered outside.
The pair appeared on Sunrise on Monday alongside director Rob Marshall to speak about the film and Halle said when she was first cast, she was ‘ecstatic’.
‘I just remember being ecstatic, this is my favorite Disney movie, my favourite Disney princess and I always wanted to be a mermaid and now I get to be one, it’s just wild,’ Halle said.
Melissa added about Halle: ‘Watching her be such a strong woman… I was very pleased as the mother of two young women, that they have someone like Halle to look up to.’
Directed by Rob Marshall, whose previous films include Chicago and Memoirs Of A Geisha, the new remake of The Little Mermaid boasts a glittering cast.
In the film, Halle plays Ariel, while Melissa plays villain Ursula.
Hamilton alum Daveed Diggs, former child star Jacob Tremblay, Crazy Rich Asians actress Awkwafina and comedy icon Melissa are all part of the project.
The Little Mermaid is the beloved fairytale of Ariel, a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure, based on the classic story by Hans Christen Anderson.
The youngest of King Triton’s daughters and the most defiant, Ariel longs to find out more about the world beyond the sea and, while visiting the surface, falls for the dashing Prince Eric.
While mermaids are forbidden to interact with humans, Ariel must follow her heart. She makes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, which gives her a chance to experience life on land but ultimately places her life – and her father’s crown – in jeopardy.
Iconic songs from The Little Mermaid soundtrack have had their lyrics changed to reflect consent in the upcoming live action remake of the 1989 Disney film.
