It has got character, is super cheap and in one of Port Augusta’s sought-after pockets – there’s a lot to love about this home, but there’s a catch.
If you buy the 1940 bungalow-style property at 27 Jervois St, you can’t move in straight away as it’s only partially renovated.
On the market with a $70,000 price guide, the property is being sold in “as is” condition.
Selling agent Charmaine Budd, of Ray White Port Augusta/Whyalla, said a family had owned it for decades and they were selling because they no longer had the capacity to restore it.

“They’ve run out of time to get it done so they’re passing it on to the next person to finish it off,” she said.
“It’s definitely what you call a project.
“But the people who own it have done a lot of ground work.
“It’s in a really good little pocket of town as well.”
The home, which is on a 808sq m block, has three bedrooms, a laundry, a bathroom, an open kitchen and living area, as well as a wraparound veranda.
Some of the work that has been completed includes all three bedrooms having their gyprock replaced and flushed, half of the kitchen and living area has new gyprock, while the whole house has been rewired.

Ms Budd said the house was a good opportunity for someone as properties like this – that being below the $100,000 mark with most of the hard work that comes with renovating done – didn’t hit the market often.
“To find this little gem, it’s pretty rare,” she said.
“Those other properties under $100,000 can be overwhelming with what you get for that and the clean up can cost a lot.”
Ms Budd said she had been “inundated” with inquiries since it hit the market, including some from Melbourne.
“We’ve got people from everywhere but mostly right now local people,” she said.
According to latest PropTrack data, Port Augusta’s median house price is $200,500 after increasing almost 18 per cent over the past year.
