- A Gympie couple won $4.8million Set For Life lotto after ‘meditating’
- A Lott official said the pair said they felt ‘woozy and weak at the knees’
- But their initial disbelief gave way to tears, shock and celebration
A couple have ‘meditated’ their way to massive $4.8million lottery windfall with the initial ‘shock’ of the news bringing disbelief and tears.
The unnamed Gympie couple won Tuesday night’s Set for Life draw, which will be doled out to them in monthly $20,000 instalments over the next 20 years.
A Lott spokeswoman said the couple told them they felt ‘woozy and weak at the knees’ when they heard the news and at first did not believe it.
The husband said the pair were super grateful, adding he was happy a regular income was coming in amid their own cost of living ‘struggles’.
‘This is extremely wonderful. We’re so shocked … my wife just went pale, and now she’s crying,’ he said over the phone.
‘We’ve often dreamt about winning Set for Life, but never have expected it to ever happen. It’s something we’ve manifested and my wife has meditated about it.’
The couple said the first things they would attend to with their winnings was an overseas jungle tour to Bali and then Italy.
Finishing renovations and helping out family and friends were also on the cards.
‘We can’t wait to help our children and grandchildren – it’s going to do such wonderful things,’ the husband said.
Their winning 10-game QuickPick was purchased online at thelott.com.
The winning numbers in the draw were 16, 41, 6, 21, 40, 20 and 30, with 18 and 38 as the supplementaries.
