The River Rats, 2-3, face second-placed Benalla in round seven.
Meanwhile, the high-flying B-grade women notched win number four for the season with a 5-2 triumph over Euroa.
Sarah-Jane Taylor starred with a brace, taking her season tally to 11 goals, while Renee Thompson, Rebecca Webb and Tina Dennett also hit the scoreboard.
The Rats sit a game clear in first with a clash against Benalla in round seven.
In the junior competitions, Echuca Moama’s under-14s contested a high-scoring thriller against GV Grammar, falling short in the 11-9 defeat.
Despite the result, the Rats remain in third place with three wins and two defeats.
The under-12 side continued to build in its clash against Strikers, falling 3-8 in an improved showing against the ladder-leaders.
