At the Safer Neighbourhood Action Panel (SNAP) meeting on Thursday, June 1, at Smudgers Bar on Sandown Road, officers set upcoming priorities for the town and nearby villages.
For South Yarmouth, beat managers will focus on keeping drug dealing offences to a minimum in St George’s Park.
A spokesperson for Norfolk Constabulary said: “Reports of drug dealing in St Georges Park have been low over the last month, however we will be taking a number of approaches to ensure this remains the case.”
The spokesperson said some of the more overt tactics may include community engagement to build intelligence and provide reassurance, and upping patrols of the area.
Elsewhere, police will prioritise tackling antisocial behaviour in the Middlegate estate, Northgate Street and Allendale Road, Caister, with an added focus on youth street drinking.
Officers will also be tackling street drinking and begging in the town centre, as well as engaging with ‘hard-to-reach’ groups.
In Rural Flegg, police aim to be more visible and intend to engage with more businesses in the area.
