In the 3 years the trio have been riffing, Ghost Care have carved out a devout following. Their intensely loveable concoction of analogue-washed vocals, confident yet delicate harmonies, grooving drums and refined guitar has seen them go from strength to strength, garnering them a nomination for BEST POP ACT in the WAM Awards, a slot at the coveted BIGSOUND festival and support from top-tier publications and radio stations.
Now they’re levelling up again, jumping on the East Coast leg of the upcoming Spacey Jane tour, which will see them hit all the smallest towns with some of the most dedicated fans.
On the tour, the band said, “It’s super exciting to get on the road again with our mates Spacey Jane. It’s going to be great to jump out of WA and get to some places over east we haven’t played yet – this tour is exactly what we were hoping to do a bit of this year! It’s been a crazily busy period over the last couple of months for all three of us, and we’re really stoked to be digging our heels into some new music, touring and shows.”
To celebrate their upcoming gigs, the band got together and discussed the joys of regional touring and why those smaller shows are essential for up and coming bands.

We get to see places that we probably wouldn’t otherwise. The thing I (Beau) have always loved personally about playing music is the experiences and unforgettable memories you have that would only be possible if music took you there.
Sometimes the major city shows or even hometown shows are over in a flash. Get in, get out vibes. When there is a trip involved, we often have the best time, grow as a band and have experiences that we wouldn’t have otherwise.
On our last regional tour, we met so many people along the way. Most people at the shows were super supportive and up for a hang or chat after. We really enjoyed that. The people seemed appreciative that we had made the journey. It’s been a big goal of ours from the beginning.
But it hasn’t always been that easy. The costs can be quite crippling if you don’t have enough pay. Venues are not often equipped, and getting the word out can be difficult. So I know that growing up in a small town when people made the effort, it meant a lot.
Living in Perth today, we have often been a state that misses out on touring acts. It’s frustrating having to travel across the country to see one show.
We know just how expensive it can be. Everything as a Perth band in the most isolated city in the world is more expensive and further out of reach. Even from town to town, there are big leaps. Perth to Bunbury is 3hrs, Margaret River 5hrs, Albany 6hrs, Esperance 8hrs. To go north feels out of reach. But we’ve done that too. We drove two vans back from Broome over three days after a two-week-long tour. That’s the equivalent of going across the Nullabor, maybe even more. We saw some of the best sunsets and sunrises you will ever see and the most rugged landscapes where the desert meets the ocean. Views I wouldn’t take back. Maybe some of the accommodation. Should’ve paid $50 more for an upgrade.
