England manager Gareth Southgate has decided to omit Tottenham Hotspur defender Eric Dier from his upcoming squad.
The Three Lions will next month take to the field for their Euro 2024 qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia, however, Dier will not be part of the squad.
Harry Kane retains his place as captain, while Southgate has also decided against recalling Fraser Forster who has featured for Tottenham in recent weeks in the absence of the injured Hugo Lloris.
Forster had been named in the previous squad for the fixtures against Italy and Ukraine in March, having benefited from the injury suffered by Newcastle United’s Nick Pope but did not take to the field in either match.
