Everyone’s favourite Danish label GANNI has officially opened its first Australian flagship store in Sydney, bringing its trademark Scandi style to our shores.
Located in The Galeries shopping arcade on the bustling George Street, the store design takes inspiration from the colourful family home of GANNI founders and husband-and-wife duo Ditte and Nicolaj Reffstrup.
“Sydney is such a vibrant and diverse city, and we’re honoured to now be a part of it with our first flagship store. I have always felt a special connection to our Australian community, and I am so humbled by their loyalty,” said Ditte Reffstrup of the new venture.
“We are super excited to bring a little bit of Copenhagen to Sydney.”
Though Aussies have enjoyed shipping from GANNI.com since 2019, being able to experience GANNI’s physical universe is huge news for fans of the brand’s joyful aesthetic.
Just like their clothes and accessories, every interior piece in the new GANNI store is carefully considered, with an eclectic mix of retro vases, vintage furniture and a selection of art by all female talents. Contrasting colours of orange, blue and pink appear in warm, sorbet tones and meld seamlessly with all the vibrant merch.
Lively art pepper the walls while geometric pendant lights hang loosely over bold furniture pieces, adding to the warmth that the label’s goods inherently radiate.
As with all GANNI stores, there is a major focus on environmental responsibility. From the recycled plastic waste podiums and the interior trays made from pressed old fabrics to upcycled Artek stools made from repurposed GANNI fabrics, every effort has been made to create a space that is beautiful, without compromising the planet.
To celebrate the store opening, GANNI has also commissioned local artist, Carla Uriarte to create an artwork that will live permanently in the store. Uriarte has also created 100 limited edition t-shirts featuring an exclusive artwork of hers, which will be sold exclusively in the Sydney store.
GANNI’s Sydney store has opened up at Shop RG004, The Galeries, at 500 George Street in Sydney’s CBD.
