Funeral details have been announced for the young Limerick man who was tragically killed in a jet ski accident in Killaloe this week
Wassiou Ayawe Moran (19) from Limerick City was former pupil of CBS Sexton Street he is was described as a promising footballer.
The 19-year-old died while two other girls were plucked from the Lough after the jet ski they were on reportedly flipped over near the bridge in the County Clare town.
Gardai and other emergency services attended the scene of the incident on Wednesday evening around 5.30pm at Lough Derg.
It followed reports of the male getting into difficulty in the water.
Following an extensive search by gardaí, the Killaloe coastguard, the Killaloe/Ballina Search and Rescue and the Killaloe Fire Service, the body of one male was recovered from the water at around 7.30pm.
Wassiou was a promising underage footballer with Limerick FC where he played as a forward.
One of his former coaches described him on social media as “a lovely young fella and super footballer. Was a pleasure to coach. RIP Waz’’.
In a heartbreaking tribute on social media his sister Tiana said: ‘’My beautiful harmless brother what am I ever goona do in this life without you.
Wassiou is very deeply regretted by his loving Mam Tracey, Father Wassiou, brothers Jordan, Mohamed and Deondre, sisters Tiana, Aaieshah, Abbie, Shaniqua, Ariana and Laytoya, aunts and uncles, extended family and many friends, including Samir, Sandra, Darragh, Ned, Luke, Calvin. and Alex.
He will be reposing this Monday evening, June 5th, at Cross’s Funeral Home, Lr. Gerard Griffin St., Limerick from 2pm to 4pm.
Requiem Mass is on Tuesday, June 6th, at 11am in St. Mary’s Church, funeral afterwards to Mount St. Lawrence (extension) Cemetery.
