SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Over 130 local students took part in the inaugural Tahoe Learning Haven Job Fair this past week at the Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe Angel of Tahoe building. The teens, ages 14-18 went through stations of filling out applications, learning how to interview, resume building, and obtaining work permits. They then went to visit almost 20 employers who want to build up their summer staffing levels.

Organizer Kathy Haven said she didn’t know what to expect for an inaugural event and was very pleased with the turnout. She sent out a survey afterward to the businesses to see if they’ll hire any of those they interviewed.
