Port Macquarie

Race 1. (12:15) The Princelawn C1 Plate (1512m)
#4 – Snapoutofit @ $2.50
Snapoutofit scored nicely on debut by a half-length at Taree, so she’s good enough to kick on with it.
The four-year-old mare by Contributer paid $5 when winning on debut, so we’re not surprised by the shorter odds this time around.
We expect her odds to shorten on race day.
Race 3. (13:25) Luxlec BM74 (2015m)
#2 – Introvert @ $3.50
Introvert looked good when winning consecutive races earlier this preparation, so that form could return here.
The four-year-old gelding didn’t fire at Grafton last time out, but dropping 5.5kg in weight makes a big difference.
He should be fighting out the finish on Friday.
Race 5. (14:35) Paws in the Palms Maiden (1208m)
#9 – Regina’s Girl @ $1.95
Regina’s Girl wasn’t far behind the winner on debut at Coffs Harbour as a $41 chance, but punters have to take short odds.
The three-year-old filly is the short favourite for this race, but it’s not a deep field, so she should go close to breaking through.
$1.95 is a fair price for the favourite.
Race 6. (15:10) Toormina Hotel Cup C2 (1008m)
#2 – Where’s the Fire @ $3
Where’s the Fire turned his form around this preparation with a win at Grafton, so he could rise through the grades now.
The three-year-old son of I Am Invincible won by 2.8 lengths in fine fashion, so there is plenty of positive to draw from that maiden success.
We expect him to rise through the grades this preparation.

Race 2. (18:15) Skye Excavations Maiden (1600m)
#9 – Shasam @ $2.40
Shasam didn’t fire on this track last time out but she is better than that, and rising in distance helps.
Going from 1400m to the mile is ideal for the daughter of Shalaa, who only needs to jump better to find a handier position.
We expect her odds to firm on race day.
Race 3. (18:45) Rosemont Stud Maiden (1400m)
#1 – Kessler @ $2.30
Kessler did enough to run second on debut at Kilmore in heavy conditions, so getting on a firmer surface should help.
The three-year-old son of Good Journey finished a length behind the winner as a $21 chance, so there has been much more support this time around.
His recent jumpout form also reads well.
Race 5. (19:45) Browns Sawdust & Shavings BM64 (1200m)
#3 – Miss Icelandic @ $3.20
Miss Icelandic was too good for them on debut when winning at Pakenham, which is a good form guide for Cranbourne.
The three-year-old filly by Deep Field scored by only a nose, but it bodes well for her future, and the tight finish showed toughness.
$3.20 could firm to around $2.50 on race night.
Race 6. (20:15) R&C Asphalt & Paving Handicap (1000m)
#4 – Silver Waves @ $3.30
Silver Waves won on debut at Mornington before finishing second at Bairnsdale, which is a tidy form guide.
The three-year-old filly by Caravaggio was only a half-length behind the winner, so she went close to being unbeaten.
It’s good to see money coming for her in early markets.
