The Frenchville Roos have continued their impressive run of form, knocking off a game Parkana FC outfit on Saturday.
It would take 27 minutes but the Roos would finally crack their opponents when Matteson Mcguire would find the back of the net.
That goal gave the Frenchville squad a perfect opening and just before the half time whistle the Roos would strike again.
Mcguire would bag his brace and Frenchy’s second of the match when he tapped in the ball from close range.
That two goal advantage would be enough to see Frenchville past the Parkana squad with the Roos only adding to their advantage in the 93rd minute.
Another tap-in scored by Paul Jackson, set up brilliantly by Jordan Miller, would settle the match at 3-0.
That win keeps the Roos undefeated through till round 14 with the team earning a breather after drawing a bye in the 13th round.
That will be crucial for the team as they will next play Clinton FC for the first time in round 14.
Speaking of the Grubs they were way too strong for the travelling Bluebirds United.
The reigning minor-premiers won 25-0 over the current bottom-dwellers in a monster scoreline.
This weekend Clinton will face Parkana in a good test before their inevitable top-of-the-table bout with Frenchville.
The Parkana squad will be looking to catch up on the likes of Central FC and Southside United who are starting to pull away from the teams lower on the ladder.
With an already 10 point gap between Parkana (seventh) and Southside United (fifth) the team from Kawana are in desperate need of a victory.
In another big match this weekend the Nerimbera Magpies collide with the Southside United Hawks in a top-five battle.
With critical points on the line, the Magpies currently lead the best-of-the-rest pack with 21 points with Central and Southside trailing closely behind in fourth and fifth respectively.
The Magpies scored a 4-0 win over the Berserker Bears on the weekend with Sam Skinner, Toby Richardson, Mafi Seeto-Toloi and Ryan Horan all contributing with a goal.
That will push them with strong momentum into the match against United, which had a week off with the bye.
Coming off that loss Berserker will host the Centralites at Elizabeth Park with the Gladstone team earning a win last time out.
Central FC knocked off the Capricorn Coast Eagles 3-0 thanks to a brace from Jai Ghee.
And finally those Eagles will play Bluebirds United with both sides looking to bounce back.
In the women’s competition the Nerimbera Magpies welcome Central FC to Pilbeam Park, Capricorn Coast host Clinton FC and later in the mid-week on Wednesday Frenchville FC take on Bluebirds United at Ryan Park.
