“A little bit late as we lost a very important pet yesterday,” she wrote.
“Our beautiful little budgie Squiggles passed away so we spent the afternoon crying and having a funeral.”
Fans of the star took to social media to offer their condolences.
“Despite the sad loss of your little Squiggles, I hope Mother’s Day did bring you some joy,” one follower wrote.
“Sorry to hear about your bird,” another added.
Chezzi shared the news alongside an adorable video of her and Grant’s youngest daughter Sunday attempting to say “Happy Mother’s Day”.
“I hope this video helps to make you smile, like it has made us this morning,” Chezzi shared.
“And to all the people missing their mums this time of the year, we feel you and we are sending you love.
“To all the beautiful souls wanting to become mums. We send you hugs and love.
“And to all those who have recently lost someone they love, or a pet they adored… sending you love too.”
Chezzi’s sad update came just weeks after she revealed she had made a “life-changing” move.
She shared that she was taking lessons from a spiritual medium – as a way to trust herself more and develop her intuition.
She said she had begun studying through the night once a week with a coach.
A spiritual medium claims to have the ability to communicate with the spirits of the dead and living beings.
Sharing videos of herself during an international Zoom session at 4.27am, Chezzi explained that for nearly 10 weeks she has been waking at 2.30am to study with The Medium School.
“The commitment seems large, especially when you’re tired and would prefer to sleep,” she explained in an Instagram story.
“But the reward is that this course has been life-changing for me.
“I am nowhere close to being able to do this as a profession… and I didn’t enter this course wanting to become a medium.
“I chose this course as a way to trust myself more, to develop ways to enhance my intuition.
“To learn ways of being able to slow down and take note of the multitude of signs and symbols put in my path each day designed to give great hope.”
Chezzi wrote that what she has taken from the course is “so much more” than simply trusting herself and enhancing her intuition.
Her lessons were to “put myself first sometimes” and that humans are “highly intuitive” – something that people can often lose touch with.
“I’ve learnt that I believe in the world being a good-hearted place despite the constant news of suffering and loss,” she went on.
“I’ve learnt that the people and animals I adored in this life, are with me energetically and cheering me on.
“And the most profound thing of all, is that I have learnt to trust myself.
“To trust and speak up when something doesn’t feel right. To have confidence in myself. To set clear boundaries.
“To speak my intentions out loud.. and to always act for the highest possible good.”
She ended the post by thanking her teacher Rory who “opened up this beautiful path”.
“I am very grateful for your guidance and help.”
Chezzi lives with Grant and their three daughters Sailor, Scout and Sunday in Bathurst, NSW.
