Gladstone locals will be able to order some of their favourite meals from local favourites with a food delivery giant launching in the Port City.
Uber Eats has finally launched in Gladstone allowing residents to order some of their favourite meals from the comfort of home or at work and have them delivered.
The service launched on Wednesday.
Included in the Gladstone offerings through the service are Coffee on Toolooa, Fifi’s Kebabs, Delhi Kitchen and Dragon Garden Chinese Restaurant.
Uber Eats first launched in Central Queensland in 2019 when the service started delivering in Rockhampton.
More than 10 million Australians used Uber or Uber Eats in 2022 alone.
As well as Gladstone, Uber Eats also launched in Bathurst, Coffs Harbour, Burnie-Somerset, Davenport and Warragul on the same day.
“This announcement is a great opportunity for local small businesses to use technology to meet new customers and capture untapped demand from locals and from people visiting these destinations for business or leisure,” an Uber Eats spokesman said.
“This expansion is an exciting moment for our Australian team as we deepen our commitment to being the only platform that helps you go anywhere, and get almost anything.”
Since launching in Australia Uber Eats has helped restaurants across the country get more than half a billion orders delivered to home, workplaces, parks, gyms and beaches.
The launch of the service in Gladstone comes as Uber Eats ramps up its regional presence.
To celebrate the launch in the Port City customers can use the code AUCL2305 to get $20 off their first order if it costs $30 or more.
