Channel 9 has revealed an extended trailer and confirmed a July 2 premiere date for its brand-new global adventure reality series, RUSH.
The innovative new show will put three Australian teams through a thrilling race across nine countries, including Brazil, Turkey, Jordan, India, Thailand, Ireland, France, Kenya, and South Africa.
The teams’ primary mission is to be the first to exit each country and advance to the next location. This adrenaline-fuelled race will take participants to some of the world’s most vibrant cultural festivals and exotic locations, such as Carnival in Rio, St Patrick’s Day in Dublin, Holi festival in India and Tomorrowland in France.
Series host and former Australian Survivor contestant David Genat will be waiting at each new location with mission instructions for the teams. Upon arrival, contestants will be deprived of sight and sound, with noise-cancelling headphones and blackout goggles, which are removed only at the start of each task.
The teams will be asked to complete a series of tasks that could range from organising and winning a soccer match with locals in Rio, finding and photographing the Stone of Sacrifice in Petra, Jordan, to bungee jumping from the world’s highest bridge, Bloukrans Gorge, in South Africa.
The stakes are high, as the last team to reach the designated Escape Zone in each country will be required to eliminate one team member. As the competition progresses, the teams will dwindle down to individual participants, leading to the emergence of a single winner. The victorious participant will receive a life-changing prize of $100,000 and two first-class, round-the-world airline tickets.
