Work has begun on the exclusive Lagune project at Moffat Beach as the sale price of the luxury apartments is revealed. Take a look at the plans here.
Work has started on Caloundra’s latest luxury apartments as the sale price for a slice of the exclusive development is revealed.
The Lagune development will feature five apartments located on the picturesque Queen of Colonies Parade at Moffat Beach.
The four-bedroom apartments start at $5.1m and will feature wrap around balconies, ocean views and two swimming pools.
Designed by Joe Adsett Architects to take in the most of the view, the apartment sizes start at 294sq m making them some of the largest “sky homes” available on the Sunshine Coast.
Director of Joe Adsett Architects, Joe Adsett, said the site for the development was chosen due to Moffat’s new-found popularity and coastal village feel.
“We knew that this area was untapped and that existing stock just didn’t offer the level of luxury that some buyers want, so when this site came up, we saw it as a great opportunity to do something extraordinary,” Mr Adsett said.
“We do believe that the Moffat Beach Headland is truly unique and a hidden gem, we expect to see more luxury developments in this area in the next 10 years.
“The area is much like a laid-back coastal town, it’s tranquil, but there are also lots of new cafes and things popping up, so there are great lifestyle opportunities as well.”
Moffat Beach real estate agent Rob Williams has sold properties in the area for 17 years and said luxury developments such as Lagune were putting the sleepy, beachside suburb on the map, attracting buyers from across the country.
“People who may have bypassed Moffat’s in the past to head straight to Noosa or Sunshine Beach have suddenly found us,” Mr Williams said.
“The number of I’m selling to from Sydney and Melbourne has dramatically increased, Brisbane is still our driving force, but Sydney and Melbourne have definitely found Moffat Beach.”
Mr Williams said the luxury apartments offered good value and development restrictions in the suburb meant Lagune will remain unique.
“Moffat has kept it’s coastal charm, it still has your classic beach houses and they aren’t all being developed,” he said.
Two of the five apartments at Lagune remain for sale.
Property data showed the median house price in Moffat Beach had shot up more than 14 per cent in the past year, currently sitting at a touch under $1.5m with 40 sales recorded in the past 12 months.
