LNJ Foxwoods and NK Racing went to $625,000 for a filly by Uncle Mo consigned as Hip 186 May 22 at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale. After breezing an eighth mile in :10 1/5 at the under tack show, she was too good to pass up in the eyes of Alex Solis of Solis/Litt Bloodstock.
“I probably gave three stars the whole breeze show and she was one of them,” Solis said. “The moment you saw it you looked at your watch and you were like, ‘That was awesome.'”
Solis said the filly will be sent to trainer Brad Cox.
Consigned by Pick View, agent, the bay filly out of the winning Blame mare Gabriellestoblame was bred in Florida by Bridlewood Farm. Gabriellestoblame is a half sibling to the 2016 Kentucky Derby (G1) winner and champion 2-year-old male Nyquist .
“It was an amazing result,” said Pick View’s Joe Pickerrell. “George Isaacs was gracious enough to let me take her for the training part, they did a great job raising her. When they work like she did it was going to be who’s the last one standing (in the sales pavilion). Not only on the racetrack, but if you are breeding, she is the kind of filly you want for the long term.”

Agent Steve Young Purchases $600,000 Tapit Colt Headed to Todd Pletcher
“Arguably, he is the best-bred horse in the sale and has a lot of similarities to the good Tapits I have purchased. I think he has a sire’s pedigree and trained great,” Bloodstock agent Steve Young said. “It was a challenging track and a tough week for people buying and selling. He was the one that we wanted.”
Julie Davies, agent, consigned the KY-bred colt as Hip 250 for breeder Gainesway Thoroughbreds. The colt out of the Orientate mare, Lady Pewitt , is bred on the same cross as former Young purchase Anchor Down . He is a three-quarter sibling to grade 1 winner Tapit Trice . Lady Pewitt has produced 2018 champion 2-year-old filly and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) winner Jaywalk as well as Groupie Doll Stakes (G3) placed Danzatrice , dam of the aforementioned Pletcher phenom Tapit Trice.
Young added: “This horse has subtle things that make you like him a tick more every time you look.”
During last week’s under tack show he breezed an eighth mile in :10 2/5.
“I have had this colt since late last year, broke him, and he’s always been very straightforward,” Davies said. “He’s a horse that likes to train, is athletic, and is a good mover on the dirt, so I decided to bring him here and showcase him.”
