Hello and welcome to the ECHO’S dedicated Everton news and transfers blog on Thursday, May 18.
Everton have two matches to secure their Premier League status for next season. Sitting just a point above the bottom three, the Blues will take on Wolves this Saturday afternoon (3pm) before a final day showdown with AFC Bournemouth at Goodison Park (Sunday, May 28).
Dominic Calvert-Lewin was forced off against Manchester City to cause one or two concerns. Sean Dyche is expected to provide an update on his main striker when sitting down with the media for his latest pre-match press conference. Everton also have one eye on the upcoming summer window.
James Rodriguez has been linked with a sensational return to the Premier League as Brighton, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace consider a swoop for his signature. Elsewhere, the ECHO understands Isaac Price is poised to complete a move to Standard Liege when his contract expires.

Head over for LIVE coverage of Sean Dyche’s pre-Wolves press conference
Sean Dyche will face the media at Finch Farm ahead of Everton’s Premier League trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon.
The Blues boss will be asked about an array of topics during his media briefing, with rumours of an immediate takeover by Miami-based group 777 partners and the fitness of Dominic Calvert-Lewin expected to be at the top of the agenda.
Calvert-Lewin was withdrawn at half-time during Sunday’s defeat to Manchester City with Dyche later confirming the forward had complained of a tight groin during the interval and therefore had no choice but to withdraw the forward.
Meanwhile, a report in the Daily Mail on Wednesday claimed 777 Partners could complete a £600m takeover over the Blues as early as next week.
Joe Thomas will be at Finch Farm for the press conference and be providing LIVE updates, here, from 1:45pm.

Who are 777 Partners? USA firm linked with Everton takeover that could happen ‘next week’
American investment fund 777 Partners have been linked with a full takeover of Everton in recent days.
The Miami-based firm have been one of a number of potential investors to have held talks with Everton owner Farhad Moshiri and his representatives in recent months. However, on Wednesday evening a report in the Daily Mail claimed that 777 could acquire the club in a full takeover as early as next week in a £600m deal, dependent on whether or not the club can retain their Premier League status this weekend. 777 Partners declined to comment when approached by the ECHO.
Moshiri has been seeking to sell some of his 94 per cent shareholding in the club in a bid to recapitalise the business, although it is a challenge that has been made more difficult by the uncertainty that remains over both what league the club will be playing in next season and what, if any, punishment is handed down for the alleged breaches of the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules. The latest reports suggest that the Everton owner may well be ready to relinquish his full stake in the club and pass the baton to new owners, just months after telling the club’s Fan Advisory Board that the club wasn’t for sale.

Everton eye Morelos as Rangers exit nears
Everton are reportedly interested in signing Rangers’ Alfredo Morelos this summer with the forward set to leave the club at the end of his contract.
According to a new report from Turkish publication Fanatik, the Colombian is set to leave Michael Beale’s side at the end of the season after five years in the Scottish Premiership. And the Blues are said to be one of the sides interested in snapping him up this summer – with Fenerbache said to be leading the race at this stage.
Morelos helped the Gers reach the 2022 Europa League final, where they lost to Eintracht Frankfurt on penalties, he also was part of Steven Gerrard’s that went the entire SPL season unbeaten as they won the 2021 title.

777 Partners deal ‘close’
Everton could reportedly be sold ‘as early as next week’ for a figure in the region of £600million.
The Daily Mail report a deal is ‘expected to be concluded’ by the start of next week, which would see American investment take control of the club from Farhad Moshiri.
A second bidder, MSP Sports Capital, ‘remained in the chase’ last night and are ‘undeterred’ to be second favourites. It is added Everton want the deal done ‘at high speed’.

Besiktas make ‘serious progress’ over Mina deal
Besiktas are said to be stepping up their efforts to recruit Everton defender, Yerry Mina.
The Colombian defender is out of contract this summer, enabling clubs to sign the centre-back on a free transfer once the window opens.
One side seemingly leading the pursuit of Mina are Besiktas, who have made ‘serious progress’ in their attempts to bring him to Turkey.
That is according to Takvim, who add Besiktas boss Senol Gunes continues to be a driving force behind a possible deal.

Rodriguez, 31, spent one season at Goodison Park under ex-manager Carlo Ancelotti.
But it appears as though there could be another chapter written in the UK.
Reports from Colombian publication El Futbolero highlight proposed interest from Crystal Palace, Brighton and Bournemouth in the former Real Madrid playmaker. Rodriguez made 26 appearances for Everton – contributing six goals and nine assists.
