Albany Empire has a new head coach for the second time in three weeks.
Owner Antonio Brown tells NewsChannel 13 John Audino will be the new coach. However, Audino told NewsChannel 13’s Rodger Wyland he hasn’t accepted yet.
Audino used to coach Union football and is currently head coach at La Salle Institute. He will replace coach Tom Menas.
Menas returned to the Empire about three weeks ago, after being fired in April. However, he was reinstated after interim Head Coach Damon Ware was fired.
There was even talk for a time of Menas bringing back Ware to the coaching staff.
“I have come to realize that my vision doesn’t match our ownership’s vision,” Menas said in a statement. “I need to do the right thing and step aside to allow the Albany Empire to find a head coach that matches their vision.”
Meantime, Brown still vows to play in the game this coming Saturday, May 27.
