The following items were taken from area police department reports and news releases. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.
Alcohol
Six people were cited for possession of alcohol in public at 1:35 p.m. June 3: Cipriano Pascual Funes, 30, of the 200 block of West North Avenue, Elmhurst; Eduardo Garcia, 40, of the 200 block of West Roosevelt Road, Bensenville; Luis Funes Camposeco, 21, Branli Funez Composeco, 26, and Marvin Funes Lucas, 24, all of the 100 block of Gary Street, Bensenville; and Manuel Salazar Ascencio, 36, of the 2700 block of St. Louis Avenue, Chicago. Funez Composeco was also cited for disorderly conduct for allegedly urinating in public.
Javier Hernandez-Garcia, 44, of the 8200 block of Woodland Drive, Darien, was charged with driving under the influence, improper lane use, failing to signal when required, driving without insurance and illegal transport of alcohol at 11:07 p.m. June 1.
Roelio Lopez-Ponce, 34, of the 500 block of Jerome Drive, Northlake, was charged with driving under the influence, driving without a valid driver’s license, failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident, driving without insurance and possession of open alcohol at 12:02 a.m. June 3.
Evelyn Meyemberg Rome, 38, of the 300 block of 55th Street, Clarendon Hills, was charged with driving under the influence, two counts of endangering the health/safety of a minor, improper lane use and driving without insurance at 8:22 p.m. June 3.
Benjamin Dunn, 44, of the 6100 block of South Mayfield Avenue, Chicago, was cited for public intoxication and possession of open alcohol at 3:18 p.m. June 6.
Battery
Nicholas Romano, 34, of the 200 block of South Pick Avenue, Elmhurst, was charged with domestic battery at 9:38 p.m. June 2.
Joshua Mercado, 37, of the 1100 block of West 18th Street, Broadview, was charged with aggravated battery and aggravated assault at 12:15 a.m. June 6.
Burglary
Five chain saws and a backpack blower were taken from a Dawson’s Tree Service truck on the 100 block of Columbia Avenue between 2 and 2:45 p.m. June 1.
An unknown offender broke the driver’s side window of a van near the corner of Michigan Street and Elmhurst Avenue between 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. June 1. The van doors were locked and nothing was reported missing.
A resident on the 300 block of South Arlington Avenue told police that after returning home from vacation June 3, they found a bathroom window open. They also indicated someone had gone through their children’s drawers and backpack. There was no sign of forced entry and the only item missing was a box of Sour Patch Kids candy.
Officers responding to a residential alarm in the 300 block of South Kenilworth Avenue at 5:42 p.m. June 7 found open doors. The residence was cleared by officers, with no items reported missing.
Cannabis
Irma Gonzalez, 34, of the 9500 block of 31st Street, Brookfield, was cited for possession of cannabis in a motor vehicle and for improperly tinted windows at 10:02 a.m. June 2.
Pablo Bernal, 49, of the first block of West Lake Street, Northlake, was charged with aggravated fleeing, possession of cannabis in a motor vehicle, driving with a revoked driver’s license, two counts of improper display of registration and driving without insurance at 12:21 a.m. June 6 after earlier fleeing from an officer trying to make a traffic stop.
Fraud
A resident told police her home health care aide forged and cashed checks on her account between Oct. 3 of last year until May 17 of this year.
Harrison Mendoza Vargas, 31, of the 100 block of South Mason Street, Bensenville, was charged with forgery, driving without a valid driver’s license, failing to yield to an emergency vehicle and improper lane use at 7:06 a.m. June 3 after police said he was in possession of a fraudulent Social Security card.
Property damage
A resident on the 700 block of South Parkside Avenue reported someone shot a BB gun at his front window, shattering it at about 9:40 p.m. June 2.
A resident on the 100 block of North Avon Road reported someone used an unknown object to puncture his air conditioner between May 30 and May 31.
Theft
A resident reported that someone used his credit card to make an unauthorized purchase May 26.
A resident reported that an unknown person used her Chase account for purchases from Amazon in January.
A resident reported that someone used his information to open an AT&T account between April 21 and June 6.
A resident reported that someone used her information to open several credit card accounts between June 5 and June 7. The cards were canceled with no money lost.
A check mailed by DM Merchandising, 835 N. Church Court, was reportedly intercepted and cashed by a person between April 28 and May 31.
Police are investigating several incidents of people stealing from At Home stores and returning the stolen items to different stores. On June 1, a person returned a chair to the Elmhurst At Home store, 265 S. Route 83, which was stolen from the Aurora store. Another person took bedding items from the Elmhurst store and returned them later that day to the Downers Grove store.
Katie Vanderveld, 32, of the 300 block of Crestwood Court, Wood Dale, was charged with two counts of theft at 11:01 a.m. June 2 following two alleged thefts from Bazzy Boutique, 106 W. Second Street, one theft on May 19 and one on June 2.
Two men reportedly stole various liquor items from Mariano’s, 678 N. York St., at about 5 p.m. June 3 and left the area northbound on York in a red Chevrolet Traverse. Jamon Wade, 25, of the 2300 block of North Nagle Avenue, Chicago, was charged with burglary and two counts of retail theft at 11:06 a.m. June 7 after an officer saw a vehicle involved in the theft and made a traffic stop. Antoinette Wallace, 30, of the 1100 block of North Kildare Avenue, Chicago, was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license and Nadia Wallace, 22, of the 5900 block of Erie Street, Chicago, was cited for unlawful possession of cannabis by a passenger.
A man reportedly took a carton of cigarettes from Thorntons, 476 N. York St., at 3:15 a.m. June 4, leaving northbound on York.
In another theft from Thorntons later the same day, a man reportedly took merchandise at about 6:30 a.m.
Antiwone Rudd, 39, of the 800 block of North Rowlett Avenue, Northlake, was charged with aggravated battery in a public place, retail theft, driving with a suspended driver’s license, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, improper backing, failing to signal, disobeying a stop sign and disobeying a police officer at 12:31 p.m. June 6. The incident began when Rudd allegedly took a carton of cigarettes from Doti Liquors, 104 E. Fullerton Ave., grabbed the arm of an employee to take her phone as she recorded the event and caused a crash as he fled.
Traffic
Jose Castillo Moscar, 51, of the 2100 block of Scoville Avenue, Berwyn, was charged with driving without a valid driver’s license and speeding at 3:45 a.m. June 2.
Jose Andres, 26, of the 1000 block of Argyle Street, Bensenville, was charged with driving without a valid driver’s license, passing a vehicle on the shoulder of the road and driving without insurance at 5:13 p.m. June 2.
Edith Hurtado-Moreno, 43, of the 600 block of 12th Avenue, Maywood, was cited for driving with a suspended driver’s license at 5:03 p.m. June 2.
Izabel Moreno, 21, of the 200 block of Miner Street, Bensenville, was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license, driving with suspended registration, driving without insurance and improperly tinted windows at 9:03 a.m. June 3.
Lorena Chavez Santella, 29, of the 300 block of Miller Lane, Wood Dale, was cited for driving with a suspended driver’s license and for driving with suspended registration at 11:03 a.m. June 3.
Audiel Maldonado, 57, of the 200 block of East Division Street, Villa Park, was cited for driving without a valid driver’s license and for speeding at 8:55 a.m. June 4.
Carl Keys, 56, of the 4500 block of Elm Avenue, Brookfield, was charged with driving with a revoked driver’s license and driving without insurance at 2:11 a.m. June 5.
Nancy Gomez Fabian, 19, of the 900 block of Virginia Lane, Elmhurst, was charged with driving without a valid driver’s license, driving without insurance and speeding at 7:44 a.m. June 5.
Monifah Shelton, 24, of the 200 block of North Addison Avenue, Elmhurst, was charged with driving with improper lighting, driving without insurance, driving with a suspended driver’s license and driving with suspended registration at 9:49 p.m. June 5.
Will Darling, 41, of the 3000 block of Marion Street, Elgin and Rigoberto Cisneros, 24, of the 2100 block of North Avers Avenue, Chicago, were cited for driving without insurance at 6:20 a.m. June 6 following a traffic accident.
Marvin Mitchell Jr., 18, of the 100 block of Gladstone Drive, Glendale Heights, was cited for driving with a suspended driver’s license and driving without insurance at 6:39 p.m. June 7.
Janiah Ellis, 22, of the 2300 block of Kilbourn Avenue, Chicago, was charged with driving without license plates and illegal transport of open alcohol at 12:23 a.m. June 6.
Venus Jackson, 51, of the first block of West Graham Avenue, Lombard, was charged with aggravated driving with a revoked driver’s license and improper passing on the shoulder at 4:05 p.m. June 7.
