EFL confirm the two games to be televised in the 23/24 Carabao Cup First Round and it’s fair to say this is going to provoke reaction.
Wrexham’s Carabao Cup First Round match at home to League One side Wigan Athletic will take place on Tuesday the 8th of August and kick off at 8pm, having been selected for live coverage on Sky Sports.
The match at the Racecourse Ground, which will be the first to be held under the new floodlights, is Wrexham’s first game in the competition since 2007.
It will see the Welsh outfit take on the Latics in a competitive fixture for the first time since the 2001/02 season.
The Carabao Cup First Round tie between the Brewers and Leicester City will also be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
The game will take place at the Pirelli Stadium on Wednesday, August 9th, with an 8pm kick off.
