HATBORO, PA —The cause of a fire Wednesday afternoon on East Montgomery Avenue behind Crooked Eye Brewery is under investigation, fire officials said.
But Hatboro Fire Marshal Kate Valesky told Patch Friday that it will probably be deemed accidental.

The fire started out as a brush fire before a motorcycle was involved, Valesky said. Initial reports stated that there was a building fire near York Road.
Valesky said the fire was behind some businesses on East Montgomery Avenue, including the Crooked Eye Brewery.
“The resident called it in and the police tried to put it out,” Valesky said. “But the fire was very large.”
She said that Warminster Township fire crews were the first to respond followed by Upper Moreland Township firefighters.
“It went pretty smoothly,” said Valesky, who recently took over as the borough’s fire marshal. “We appreciate the help from Warminster and Upper Moreland. The fire could have been a lot worse.”
The Enterprise Fire Company of Hatboro had posted Tuesday night that the borough’s fire danger was at a “high” level and that the borough was under a red flag warning due to the Canadian wildfires and poor air quality.
The fire company was asking residents to use caution with any materials that can cause a fire (ie smoking, fire pits etc.).
