Police arrested a man aged in his 40s earlier this week on suspicion of arson after 13 vehicles were set alight during the early hours of Monday, May 15.
Firefighters and police rushed to multiple addresses in Wimborne, Broadstone and Merley between 1am and 3pm to extinguish the fires, which also reached two properties.
The locations with reported incidents were Wentworth Drive, Oakley Hill, Oakley Road, Merley Way, Stour Walk, New Borough Road, Grove Road and Leigh Road.
An investigation continues into the alleged arson continues and police are continuing their plea to anybody who may have information to come forward.
Chief Inspector Andy Edwards, of Dorset Police, said: “It is vitally important that we establish what happened and it remains a priority that we continue to carry out a thorough investigation and therefore, a dedicated team is continuing with detailed enquiries.
“I would like to reiterate our appeal for anyone who may have any piece of information or footage to help our enquiries to please come forward – we want to hear from you.

“The impact on our communities is not underestimated and I would like to remind residents that officers from our neighbourhood policing teams will continue to carry out enhanced patrols in the area and can be approached with any information or concerns.”
