Traditional music/jam sessions
- Tunes are at the Schooner Session with Mark Douglas and Friends, Thursdays, 7-9 p.m., at the Old Triangle in Charlottetown.
- Weekly Friday night ceilidhs are at the Seniors Circle Club in St. Peter’s Bay, 7:30 p.m. Admission is $5.
- The ceilidh June 9, 8 p.m., in the Katherine Hughes Memorial Hall at the Irish Cultural Centre, 582 North River Rd., Charlottetown, will feature Tip Er Back (Allan Betts, Clive Currie, Wade Murray) with guests Darlene Bradley and fiddler Allison Giggey. There will be a 50-50 draw, and a light snack is served during intermission. Tickets are $15 and $5 (12 and under) or on Eventbrite. - Kitchen party is at the Summerside Legion on June 10, 1-4 p.m. (note the change in time for this week only), with Rheal Arsenault, Andy Paynter and special guest Dwayne Doiron.
- Helping Hands Band jamborees are Saturdays at St. Anthony’s Hall, Route 2, Woodstock, with the next one June 10, 7:30 p.m. Admission is $10 with a light lunch and a 50-50 draw. Proceeds are donated to charities. Call 902-859-2394.
- Sunday Afternoon Tune Session is at the Old Triangle, Charlottetown, 2-5 p.m., with the next one June 11.

There will be a light lunch and a 50-50 draw. Admission is $10.

Concerts
- Island Jazz continues at Baba’s Lounge in Charlottetown on Thursdays with the next one June 8 featuring folk jazz with Jordan Taylor Trio (Chris Martell, bass, and Mat MacEachern, drums). There are two sets, with the first at 8 p.m. Donations are at the door.
- Live in the Lounge is at Harmony House in Hunter River, with the next one on June 9 featuring Brian Dunn. This is a non-ticketed event – pay-what-you-can at the door. Music gets underway about 7:30 p.m. For information, contact the venue.
- Coyote and The Darvel are at the Trailside Music Hall (standing show) on Kent Street in Charlottetown, June 9, 8 p.m.
- Under the Spire festival presents an open house with Lovely Nelly, June 10, 1-3 p.m., at Historic St. Mary’s on Hamilton Road in Indian River. This free family-friendly event is a concert for community members and a chance to explore Historic St. Mary’s as the summer season opens. There will also be strawberry shortcake, snacks and beverages on sale in the pavilion
- Got Blues Matinee is on various Saturdays, 2-4 p.m., at The Salvatore Dali Cafe, 155 Kent St., Charlottetown, hosted by Got Blues (Chris Roumbanis, Reg Ballagh, Mike Robicheau), with a special guest for the first set, and an electric blues jam in the second set. - The Stompin’ Tom Centre in Skinners Pond features entertainment every Saturday, starting June 10, 7:30 p.m., as part of the Stompin’ Tom Festival Series. The first performers are JP Cormier and Rakish. For tickets, contact the venue’s website.

- Copper Bottom Presents: Ledwell & Haines – Stories and Songs at the venue in Montague on June 10. Tickets can be purchased in the taproom or online via Eventbrite. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
- Definitely Not the Symphony (DNTS) presents a spring concert June 10, 10 a.m., at Park Royal United Church, 11 Christie Dr., Charlottetown. Admission is by donation (suggested $5-10) to cover event costs. Musical directors Marti Hopson and Lucy Morkunas will conduct this volunteer group of instrumental music enthusiasts in a mixed selection of popular, film and light classics.
- Winsloe United Church will present a benefit concert June 11, 7 p.m., in support of the family of Christine and Dillon Cameron and Keelin Wedge. Host Eddy Quinn will be joined by Fiddlers Sons and Cynthia MacLeod, as well as Colleen MacPhee, Dino Dunsford, Lester MacPherson, Lennie Gallant and Patricia Richard, Jacinta MacDonald, Tip Er Back and the Winsloe United house band. Admission is $15 at the door which opens at 6:30 p.m. Coffee, tea and cold drinks will be served at intermission.

Theatre/Dance/Comedy
- ACT (a community theatre) will stage Al Pittman’s West Moon at the Watermark Theatre in 2023 in the week leading up to Halloween. A preview evening is June 8, 7 p.m., at the Fox & Crow pub in the Murphy Student Centre, UPEI, to read through the play and share plans. - Eptek Art & Culture Centre is featuring Quilts of COVID, an exhibit by the Kindred Spirits Quilt Guild. During the 2020 COVID lockdown, members discovered unfinished quilting projects. Using this narrow time frame, they created a body of work that reflects, not only their guild, but also P.E.I. Opening June 13, it will be on display this summer. - Tribute to the Trees is at Ellen’s Creek Gallery, Charlottetown, June 14 to July 15. Presented by The Painted Ladies, this exhibition and sale of work captures the artists’ impressions of trees in diverse landscapes and various media, following post-tropical storm Fiona, with attention to resilience, regrowth and stability in the face of devastation. The show runs until July 15. Everyone is invited to attend the opening June 14, 7 p.m. The artists will be present, and refreshments will be provided.
