Carl Forster’s in-form charges made it three wins on the bounce in League 1 with a thumping 60-6 success at London Skolars.
All of these triumphs have come away from home and the fine run of form has moved the Crusaders to within just two points of the top-six at the midway point of the campaign.
The match took place at Brentwood and the Crusaders were in control pretty much from the off, building up a 42-0 advantage by half-time.
Aaron Small’s second half score provided Skolars with their bright spot, while Crusaders’ Rob Massam grabbed the final try on the hooter.
Massam finished up with two tries on the day and he was joined on the scoresheet by Dan Hill (2), Brad Billsborough, Forster, Ryan Ellis, Jake Burns, Jack Holmes and Dave Gibbons.
While they have become away day winning experts, it will be all about home comforts for the Crusaders for the rest of the month in their efforts to climb the table.
A trio of home clashes are on the horizon, starting with next Sunday’s big encounter versus Workington Town.
The Cumbrians have former Crusaders’ head coach Anthony Murray in charge.
Following on from this, Crusaders will then go on to welcome Midlands Hurricanes (June 18) and Hunslet (June 25) to Colwyn Bay.
In Saturday’s other match, second-placed Oldham defeated Hunslet 40-20.
Sunday’s results: Midlands Hurricanes 26 Doncaster 54; Workington Town 54 Cornwall 0.
One player who is enjoying his time with the club is Jamaica international Jordan Andrade.
Andrade told the club’s website: “When was it? 2016, maybe, I came on loan when I was at Salford.
“I think I played six or seven games and I enjoyed it back then to be fair and that was when Muzza (Anthony Murray) was the coach.
“Me and him really got along and still do to this day.
“And to come back here, it was an easy decision, really, when Carl rang me.
“Obviously, after the World Cup, I was umming and arring whether I was going to carry on and stuff, but obviously after speaking to Carl and kind of what he kind of wants from the club, it was an easy decision.”
Andrade was a member of the Jamaica squad at the 2021 World Cup. They were placed in Group C of the event, alongside 2008 world champions New Zealand.
New Zealand won their meeting with Jamaica 68-6, while the Jamaican side suffered a 48-2 loss to Ireland in their opening group match.
Andrade finished the tournament on a high, though, with a try in a 74-12 defeat versus Lebanon.
“I still think about it now,” he added.
“It was a great experience, obviously.
“I’ve been playing for Jamaica now since I think it was 2016 and just kind of cap it off with that World Cup will be really good.
“I think I’ll be too old for the next one. I don’t think the body will allow me to play in that one, but it was a really good experience.”
