WHAT WE’RE LOOKING AT
- The Power have won nine straight games.
- Port has also won and covered the line in its last eight at Marvel.
- Western Bulldogs rank 14th in points per game.
THE MATCH-UP
Friday night footy this week finds a Western Bulldogs squad looking to bounce back after falling flat in the fourth last week against Geelong to drop to 7-5 for the season.
The Dogs will have a tough time of it as they host the form team of the comp Port Adelaide, with the Power on the longest winning streak in the club’s AFL history, having won nine on the trot to sit 10-2 and second on the ladder.
Port is averaging 94.9 points a game (4th in the AFL), while the Dogs are struggling on that front, owners of the 14th-ranked offence in the league while putting up only 77.7 per outing and having to rely on the 4th-ranked defence (conceding only 74.9 a contest).
The last five games at Marvel have hit the total points over and two of the past three clashes between these two teams has also topped the over.

POWER TO KEEP WINNING?
Port’s win streak has coincided with its midfield rising to be one of the top units in the entire comp. Zak Butters has ripped off 25 touches in nine straight, Connor Rozee has done the same in five on the trot and former Brownlow winner Ollie Wines has found some form, hitting 20+ in his last eight outings.

Former No. 1 pick has also been terrific of late, going for 20+ touches in four of his last six and also kicked a goal in four straight games.
The goals have come thick and fast from the Power, with Jeremy Finlayson and Todd Marshall crushing it, but it’s Junior Rioli who’s providing consistency. He’s kicked at least two goals in five straight games now.

GOT THAT DOG IN THEM
In his last four straight Friday night games, Bulldog Jack Macrae has had for 31+ touches: he loves Marvel as well, with a ridiculous career average of over 28 disposals under the dome.
Marcus Bontempelli had a quiet (for him) outing against the Cats last week, but is averaging over 26 disposals a contest and has gone for 25+ in four his last five. He’s also booted a goal in four straight games against Port Adelaide.
With the struggles the Dogs have been having hitting the scoreboard, Luke Beveridge and co. will be desperate for a big outing from Jamarra Ugle-Hagan. The electric forward has had 5+ goals in the last two Bulldog home games where they started as underdogs.

BEST WESTERN BULLDOGS-PORT PLAYER PROP
The Bulldogs offensive struggles have been clear – they’re positively Carlton-esque – but one constant that forward line has is the Flying Headband Aaron Naughton: he’s kicked a goal in every single game this season. It’s been five weeks since he had a bag of multiple majors however, but he has 12 in seven games against the Power.
Naughton has also snagged the first goal of the match four times since the start of last season: if the Dogs are to have a hope, Naughton will need to stand up.
THE PICK
The Bulldogs are struggling to kick scores against quality defences (managing 75 and 77 in its last two), while Port Adelaide has won nine straight.
The Power also has zero fear of travelling to Marvel, having won and covered the line in eight straight.
Port should do enough to get the win.
