Stewards announce result stands – Bradsell wins
Who is Megan Nicholls?
Megan, the daughter of champion National Hunt trainer Paul Nicholls, has always had an affiliation with horse racing.
She is a former jockey who rode Knappers Hill to victory in the Grade Two bumper at Aintree in 2021.
After a massive 110 career wins, Nicholls decided to retire at the age of 25 to focus on her media work.
She’s now a horse racing pundit for ITV Racing and Racing TV.
Nicholls is also an ambassador for York Racecourse as she helps promote and celebrate women in horse racing.
Both jockeys in stewards’ room
The riders of the first two horses are having to explain their actions to the stewards as they investigate the run of Bradsell.
Jason Hart feels he couldn’t put in the run he planned at the end because of Bradsell impeding him.
We wait for the stewards’ decision with bated breath.
3.40 King’s Stand Stakes
Jason Hart is not happy that his horse, Highfield Princess, was ‘intimidated’ by the riding of Hollie Doyle.
They will have to put their case across to the stewards.
Bradsell, as it stands, is the winner of the King’s Stand Stakes.
3.40 – King’s Stand Stakes
We are underway in the third race of day one of Royal Ascot.
The international field makes this an intriguing race.
Twilight Gleaming makes a good start but Highfield Princess leads.
