THE showdown between White Hills and North Bendigo highlights Saturday’s seventh round of the Bendigo Bank Heathcote DFNL senior footy action.
Heat will be high as the Demons and Bulldogs clash at Winslow Constructors Oval in Scott Street, White Hills.
Both line-ups have changed markedly, but the memory of last season’s elimination final loss to the Demons will spur the Rob Bennett-coached North Bendigo team.
White Hills has a four and one record following a 14-point win at Lockington last round.
Nicholas Warnock, Jake Pallpratt, Nathan Moffat and Cohen Kekich were best for the red and black.
North Bendigo’s unbeaten run kept rolling in a 51-point triumph at home against Leitchville Gunbower.
Jordan Ford kicked eight goals and will test the Dees defence, while the work rate of Tim Devereux and Matt Gray in defence, and captain Aarryn Craig was outstanding.
Another big match will be at Lockington where LBU strives to avoid a hat-trick of defeats.
The Stacy Fiske-coached Cats take on a Heathcote team brimming with confidence after a nine-point win on Mount Pleasant’s turf at Toolleen.
Key players for the Andrew Saladino-coached Heathcote include Braden Padmore, Liam Jacques, Connor Hamilton, and gun forward Corey Grindlay.
Leitchville Gunbower is back on home turf at Leitchville to take on Huntly.
The Bombers played well at home in round five to beat LBU and have ruckman Jobee Warde, Caleb Hislop and Tom Brereton in form.
Huntly worked incredibly hard to finish within 17 points of Colbinabbin at Huntly’s Strauch Reserve last Saturday.
Hawks’ co-coach Harry Whittle was best for the brown and gold, along with Jackson Fry, Lachlan Watson and Lachy Wilson.
Elmore is at home to take on Mount Pleasant and the Bloods had the bye last round and take on a Blues team on the rebound from defeat.
Colbinabbin has the bye.
